In the mid-twentieth century, progress was only built with laughter and happiness in Soviet or Franco propaganda films. Underneath that celluloid surface there was always work and effort, as there are abandoned villages beneath the meek waters of the Luna swamp (León).

Less than 70 years ago, towns of the Leon region of Luna disappeared from the face of the land such as Arévalo, Campo de Luna, La Canela, San Pedro de Luna, Santa Eulalia de las Manzanas and more, up to a total of 16.
