Istanbul is my favorite European city and Turkey a good country for backpackers
Today we continue with the second part of the list with my favorite countries to travel as a backpacker:
If you are looking for cheap prices, party, beaches and ease of movementI welcome you to the internationally known as Country of Smiles. Seeing the nickname that they have managed to export practically on their own, one can realize that the Thais have managed to sell themselves, touristily, like few countries in recent decades. But it is true that the thing has its foundation.
Of course, notice to navigators: Thailand is an overexploited destination.
My beach of Koh Payam in Thailand
Although the country is huge and, obviously, it still has corners that preserve its local authenticity, the most famous islands and cities have become a hotbed of backpackers hardly bearable unless you are looking for the same as them: party, beach ... And little else .
On my first trip to Thailand, at the end of 2003, I visited the chaotic Bangkok, the imperial Ayutthaya, the Khao Yai National Park and the islands of Koh Lanta, the famous Koh Phi Phi and Koh Panghan, where we attend the world famousFull moon party.
Although we enjoy as dwarfs of the beach and the party in each of the places, only Ayutthaya and the immense park of Khao Yai They made us feel we were in Thailand. In the rest of the places we did not know - or did not want - to leave the foreign backpacking environment.
