The main dishes are based on meats and cost an average of 250 Syrian pounds - about four or five euros. Among them we had a tremendous chicken stew and a delicious lamb with almond sauce.
We really enjoyed our visit to the Hawali. The excellent service and desserts came with surprise with lots of nuts and all kinds of fruit on the table. We could not end everything or joke.
We met quite a few restaurants traveling by Syria but without a doubt the Hawali took the palm and the best culinary memory of Syria. My traveling companions on their return to Damascus could not help giving a new tribute to the great cuisine of this restaurant.
